Welding Inspector

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Inspect welding works before, during, and after fabrication or installation.

2. Verify weld joint preparation, fit-up, alignment, and workmanship.

3. Ensure welding works comply with applicable international standards such as AWS and CSWIP 3.1.

4. Verify welders’ certifications and ensure qualifications are valid and up to date.

5. Monitor welder performance and ensure correct welding techniques are applied.

6. Conduct visual inspections and coordinate non-destructive testing when required.

7. Prepare inspection reports and highlight non-conformities.

8. Ensure welding activities comply with site safety rules and procedures.

9. Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and supervisors to resolve quality issues.

Job Requirements

Education

• Diploma or Certificate in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum 2–5 years of welding inspection experience.

• Experience in field-based inspection at construction or industrial sites.

• Exposure to high-temperature environments and heavy equipment.

Skills & Knowledge

• Knowledge of welding standards and inspection procedures.

• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.

• Good communication and coordination skills.

Employment Details

• Contract Duration: 8 months

• Salary Range: SGD 3,000 – 4,000 (based on experience)

• Work Location: Project site / construction site
