Job Description
Our client, a leading chemical manufacturer, is currently seeking a Senior Engineer (EHS). This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations, managing safety initiatives, conducting risk assessments, leading emergency response efforts, and working closely with local authorities and contractors to promote a safe and continuously improving work environment.
Responsibilities】
- Interpret and implement compliance with legal, Singapore Standards, Codes of Practice, and other relevant requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and periodically test emergency response plans, conduct CERT audits, and lead emergency drills.
- Liaise with local authorities on EHS issues, handle license renewals, and represent the company in relevant meetings (RC / SICA / SORT).
- Manage EHS incidents and non-conformance investigations, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are tracked and closed.
- Organize risk assessments, site inspections, and industrial hygiene / environmental samplings, directing risk reduction measures.
- Conduct EHS audits, training sessions, meetings, and promotional programs to enhance employee awareness and knowledge.
- Establish EHS objectives and management programs aimed at continual improvement.
- Manage contractor activities during in-house and shutdown maintenance (SDM) tasks.
- Ensure safety case implementation and mitigative measures for Safety-Critical Events (SCE) in Major Hazard Industries (MHI).
- Lead continual improvement projects for HSE, collaborate on annual safety campaigns, and assist with ad hoc assignments.

Requirements & Preferences】
Diploma or higher qualification.Minimum of 5 years of experience managing safety responsibilities within the HSE department.At least 3 years of working experience in Manufacturing or Chemical plants.Must be a registered WSH Officer with MOM and a Fire Safety Manager (FSM) certified by SCDF.Solid understanding of chemical processes and unit operations.Experience with ISO14001 / SS651 (ISO45001) management systems.Proficient in reading and interpreting P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) drawings.Experience working on Jurong Island is an added advantage.English Level
