Director, E-Commerce Platform Operations / Marketplace Services

We are an organization that distribute beauty and other lifestyle brands throughout the world. The Director of E-Commerce Platform Operations / Marketplace Services is responsible for overseeing the management and optimization of brand presence on various third-party digital platforms, including e-commerce websites and social media. This role involves developing strategies to enhance visibility, drive sales, and ensure compliance with platform guidelines. The director will lead a team of platform operators and collaborate closely with Marketing and Product teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership : Develop and implement strategies for maximizing brand visibility and sales on digital platforms.
  • Team Management : Lead and mentor a team of platform operators, providing guidance on best practices and performance metrics.
  • Onboarding and Integration : Oversee the onboarding process for brands, ensuring seamless integration into the platform ecosystems.
  • Product Listing Management : Ensure that product listings are accurate, appealing, and optimized for search visibility, including descriptions, images, and pricing.
  • Performance Analysis : Monitor and analyze sales data, customer reviews, and market trends to assess platform performance and identify areas for improvement. Ensure the financial success for all parties.
  • Optimization Initiatives : Implement strategies to enhance product visibility, such as SEO, promotional campaigns, and targeted advertising.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with marketing and product teams to develop cross-functional strategies that promote products and drive traffic to listings.
  • Customer Support Oversight : Address inquiries and issues from brands and customers regarding listings, transactions, and platform performance.
  • Compliance Management : Ensure all product listings comply with platform guidelines and applicable legal regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 15+ years of experience in e-commerce, digital marketing, or platform management, with a focus on brand operations and / or sales management.
  • Proven experience in setting up marketplace operations with e-commerce platforms (for example Amazon, TikTok Shop, Zalando, Lazada, Shopee, Mercado Libre) either as a platform operator (in an agency setting) or as a brand owner. Previous experience in beauty / skincare brands also necessary.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision-making and performance analysis.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools and analytics software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present insights to stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external.
