Business Environment Risk & Compliance Manager (Enterprise Risk / Audit)

Our client is seeking an experienced Business Environment Risk & Compliance Manager to strengthen its enterprise risk and governance framework. This role works closely with senior stakeholders to identify, assess, and mitigate financial, operational, IT, and regulatory risks while supporting sustainable business operations.

This is a high-impact position for professionals who enjoy building risk culture, improving controls, and partnering with the business to manage evolving risks in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Risk Management

• Develop, implement, and enhance enterprise risk management frameworks across the organisation.

• Identify, assess, and monitor business environment risks covering finance, operations, IT, and governance.

• Prepare risk dashboards and reports with actionable mitigation strategies for management.

Financial & Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and internal controls.

• Conduct audits, reviews, and gap analyses to strengthen governance and regulatory adherence.

Operational Risk Control

• Review business processes to identify risk exposure, inefficiencies, and control gaps.

• Partner with business units to implement preventive and corrective measures.

Data Privacy & Governance

• Oversee compliance with data protection and privacy regulations.

• Advise stakeholders on data governance, risk assessments, and best practices.

IT & Cybersecurity Risk

• Review IT policies, cybersecurity frameworks, and system controls.

• Identify vulnerabilities and recommend enhancements to protect systems and business data.

Workplace Health & Safety (WHS)

• Support and monitor health and safety programmes and policies.

• Ensure operational practices meet regulatory and organisational safety standards.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in enterprise risk management, audit, or compliance.

• Strong exposure to business environment risk and financial compliance (e.g. AML).

• Experience covering operational, data privacy, IT, cybersecurity, and workplace safety risks.

• Ability to translate risk findings into practical business actions.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
