Roles & Responsibilities
An established Asian bank with a strong presence in Singapore is seeking an experienced Compliance Specialist to join its team. This role reports directly to the Head of Compliance and offers the opportunity to work on complex transactions while strengthening the bank’s AML / CFT framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct 2nd level review and analysis of trade finance transactions, remittances (including cheques / cash), and escalations from Operations to Compliance.
- Perform investigations and post-transaction monitoring of alerts generated by the Transaction Monitoring System.
- Identify and escalate potential AML / CFT concerns, ensuring timely reporting of suspicious transactions to relevant authorities.
- Provide advisory support to Business Units and Operations on trade-related and AML transaction monitoring matters.
- Support AML reporting, watchlist management, high-risk country list updates, and transaction escalations.
- Stay up to date on trade-based money laundering typologies, sanctions, MAS regulations, and industry best practices.
- Contribute to process enhancements and assist with ad-hoc compliance duties, including KYC reviews and audit support.
Requirements
Recognized degree with 3–5 years of experience in AML / CFT compliance within the financial industry, with at least 3 years in transaction monitoring and investigations.Strong knowledge of trade finance products, remittances, cheques, and related due diligence (including ECDD).Familiarity with MAS regulations (e.g., MAS Notice 626, related guidelines, sanctions requirements).Professional certifications (e.g., ACAMS, ICA) preferred.Strong analytical, investigative, and writing skills with the ability to document assessments and recommendations clearly.Independent, proactive, and detail-oriented team player with good communication skills.If this sounds like you, I would love to chat.
