Senior Accountant - Islandwide, SG

Roles & Responsibilities

JOB SCOPE :

• To assist the Assistant Finance Manager to oversee the Local Accounting & Finance Department.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES :

1. General Ledger Functions :

a. Review and ensure timely and accurate monthly closing and reporting (Internal and External)

b. Review GST returns and ensure timely and accurate GST Submissions

c. Liaison with External Auditors on external audit & finalisation of audited accounts for statutory purpose.

2. Accounts Receivable Functions :

a. Oversees the AR collection functions and ensure timely collections and clearing of AR transactions

3. Accounts Payable Functions :

a. Ensure smooth operations, timely and accurate recognition and settlement of invoices & staff claims

b. Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls and audit / tax regulations

c. Review accounting entries as part of month-end closing activities and ensure correctness of accounting treatments

4. Fixed Asset Functions :

a. Oversees the management of fixed assets

b. Review and monitor fixed asset reports for management reporting

5. Tax Functions

a. Handles Corporate Tax matters and liaison with external tax agents on IRAS queries & submissions

b. Ensure timely and accurate submission to IRAS

6. Treasury Functions

a. Handles funding requirements and ensure availability of funds in bank accounts to meet cash requirements

b. Prepare monthly cash flow forecast, analyse variance against budget / forecast and ensure timely submission to Head Office

7. Corporate Planning Functions

a. Perform in depth analysis on various business units’ performance and prepare monthly management reports with presentation

b. Collaborate with variance Business units on preparation of mid-term / annual / semi-annual budget

8. Liaise with internal and external auditors / corporate secretary / government authorities on audit / Tax agents / bankers etc

9. Develop company policies and all formal finance related standard operating procedures including streamline and automation process

10. Involve in Finance projects and any other tasks as may be assigned.

Job Requirements :

1. Min Degree Holder in Accountancy with at least 2 years supervisory experience.

Diploma holders with extensive supervisory experience will also be considered.

2. Proficient in SAP FICO module, Microsoft Applications such as Excel, Word, Powerpoint

3. Good working knowledge of IFRS & Singapore Tax Regulations

4. Possess good interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills

5. A hands-on person and has an eye for details and is meticulous and an inquiring mind

6. A good team player who is able to work with minimum supervision

7. Able to work under pressure
