Job Description
The Assistant Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor (Tender) is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and managing the full spectrum of tender submissions for diverse construction projects. The role requires leading and guiding the tender process, analyzing tender documents, performing detailed quantity take-offs, ensuring supplier and subcontractor quotations comply with specifications and drawings, and delivering timely, competitive, and compliant submissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and prepare comprehensive cost estimates for tender submissions.
- Lead, guide, and review trade cost comparison sheets to ensure compliance with specifications and drawings without exclusions.
- Source, evaluate, and follow up with suppliers and subcontractors to secure timely and competitive quotations.
- Conduct quantity take-offs for structural and architectural works, preparing detailed cost breakdowns based on drawings, specifications, and requirements.
- Review and verify quantity take-offs prepared by Quantity Surveyors, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Interpret tender documents (drawings, specifications, contracts) to ensure complete understanding of the project scope.
- Identify and highlight discrepancies in tender drawings and specifications, raising timely clarification queries.
- Provide accurate cost inputs and supporting data in accordance with tender submission requirements.
- Ensure all deliverables meet accuracy, consistency, and timeliness standards.
- Lead, coach, and mentor junior Quantity Surveyors, ensuring knowledge transfer, professional growth, and alignment with company standards.
- Assign tasks and monitor progress of the teams
- Coordinate internally to ensure completeness of tender submissions.
- Establish and maintain tender documentation, databases, and cost libraries for accurate and efficient future reference.
- Prepare comprehensive handover documentation for project teams upon award, ensuring smooth transition from tender to execution.
- Liaise with consultants and internal project teams to clarify tender requirements and resolve technical or contractual issues.
Job Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, or a related discipline.Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with strong technical knowledge in structural and architectural works.At least 5 years of proven experience in tendering roles.Meticulous, detail-oriented, and analytical mindset.Self-motivated, energetic, and a strong team player.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Proactive, resourceful, and solutions-oriented in problem-solving and sourcing.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and familiar with measurement software (e.g., AutoCAD, CostX, Glodon, etc).We regret to inform that only shortlisted candidates would be notified.By submitting your personal data and / or resume, you will be deemed to have agreed and consented to us collecting, using, retaining, and disclosing your personal information to prospective employers for their consideration.
