A procurement manager is responsible for acquiring goods and services for a company by sourcing, negotiating with, and managing suppliers to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality supply .

Key duties include developing sourcing strategies, negotiating contracts, and managing the procurement process from start to finish, which requires strong negotiation, organizational, and financial skills.

Key responsibilities

• Supplier management : Find and develop relationships with reliable suppliers, negotiate contracts to get the best terms, and manage ongoing partnerships.
• Cost management : Develop strategies to reduce procurement costs and ensure the company receives the best value for money.
• Process oversight : Manage the entire procurement process, from initial request to final delivery, and maintain accurate logs and reports.
• Risk management : Assess and mitigate risks associated with suppliers and the supply chain to prevent disruptions.
• Inventory control : Monitor and manage stock levels to ensure there is always enough supply.
