The SKILT Centre - the SpecialKids Intervention, Learning and Therapy Centre established in collaboration with SpecialKids Child Health & Development Clinic, provides a holistic series of programmes that target individuals aged 2 and upwards, through teenage years.
Currently, we are looking for someone who has experience teaching children with mild to moderate learning difficulties, specific learning difficulties and / or children with emotional or behavioural problems.
Role and Responsibilities
- Develop and adapt lesson plans for students who have varying disability / disabilities that challenge them in normal classroom environment
- Teach MOE primary / secondary school curriculum such as Mandarin, Science and English.
- Deliver clear and effective lessons with students individually
- Monitor the academic progress of student and write progress report
- Work collaboratively with parents to discuss issues relating to student's learning progress
- Updating case notes post-sessions regularly and independently
Requirements
Minimum Bachelor's degree in special education, childhood psychology or teachingRelevant working experience in mainstream schools will be advantageousExperience working with children with physical, emotional and learning disabilitiesAbility to extend patience, love, passion and kindness to studentsPatience in guiding children with challenging behaviour and the ability to apply ST strategies from the TEACCH approachStrong command of English, both written and spokenAbility to teach on full SaturdaysWilling to travel between two intervention centres (Upper Thomson & Bukit Timah)Current MOE teachers with relevant experience may apply for flexible working hours
