The Trainee Teacher scheme is a place-and-train programme designed to immerse you in the child care environment. Through a combination of classroom training and workplace attachment, you will be provided real time feedback and peer support for your optimal learning.

As a Trainee Teacher (Chinese), you will be focusing on looking after children from 18 months to 6 years old by creating a safe and conducive learning environment for children. You will be sponsored to pursue a 18-month Diploma in Early Childhood Teaching (Conversion) course.

Upon graduation, you will be awarded the DECEE-T certificate and deployed as an English Childcare Teacher teaching children aged 18 months to 6 years old. A 1-year bond is applicable upon course completion.

Requirements :

  • Minimum Diploma from a local polytechnic in any discipline. Degree holders are welcome to apply.
  • Passionate about working with young children aged 18 months to 6 years.
  • Possesses good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Prior experience in childcare, babysitting, or early childhood education is advantageous but not required.

Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria set by the appointed education institution for the Career Conversion Programme (CCP).

For applicants with Singapore-based qualifications :

  • Pass in at least 5 subjects at GCE O-Level, including a minimum B4 in GCE O-Level Chinese or an equivalent certification.

    • For applicants with qualifications from China or Taiwan :

  • Holds a Diploma or higher qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Must have obtained a passing grade in 5 different subjects in a national-level examination, including Chinese or an accepted equivalent certification.
  • Applicants with qualifications from China must submit notarized copies of their graduation certificate and academic transcripts issued by an official notary public in China.

    • For applicants with qualifications from Malaysia :

  • Holds an SPM qualification with at least 5 subjects passed, including Chinese.
  • Proficiency in the Chinese language is required, with at least a B4 in GCE O-Level Chinese or an equivalent qualification such as Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK) Level 6 (Reading, Listening, Writing) and Advanced Level (Oral).
  • Candidates without prior early childhood experience or formal early childhood qualifications are welcome to apply.

  • O水准5科及格或以上的学历，包括拥有新加坡剑桥‘O’水准的华文成绩为‘B4’或等同证书

    • 持有中国或台湾文凭学生的申请者

  • 持有国内大专或以上的学历，并在国家级考试中有5个不同科目获得及格分数包括中文或可接受等同的证书
  • 持中国学历的申请者在提交毕业证书及成绩单的同时，必须提供由中国国家机构公证处签发的相关公证书。

    • 持有马来西亚文凭学生的申请者

  • 持有马来西亚 SPM并有5个科目获得及格等级，包括华文
  • 如果申请者的华文等级低于B4，必须获得汉语水平考试（HSK）6级和口试高级的证书
  • 欢迎无幼教经验或正式幼教资格的申请者加入
