Roles & Responsibilities
Working hours
- Mondays to Thursdays : 7 : 15am to 4 : 15pm , inclusive of ½hr lunch break
- Fridays : 7 : 15am to 3.45pm , inclusive of ½hr lunch break
- Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
- Hours listed above may be changed according to school's needs and subjected to time off in lieu at the discretion of the school
- Service not required during school holiday unless specified by the school.
Experience & Skills
Have at least 1 year working experience working as Kitchen Helper / OSO / Cleaner / Hawker’s AssistantIndependent and confidentMinimum qualification of Secondary 4Basic mathematical skills e.g. able to calculate the amount of ingredients based on a given recipe for seven classesPossess good knowledge in food and kitchen safety; skillful in food handling with relevant certification preferred (e.g. Food Safety Course Level 1 by ITE, WSQ Food Hygiene Course (Food Safety Course Level 1), Food Safety Course Level 1 by SHATEC).Key Responsibilities
Be in the Teacher’s Preparation Room and Food / Science Labs during working hours whenever the help is needed for the day.To take on some Operations Support Officer (OSO) duties when required.Operations Support Officer (OSO)
Maintaining the general cleanliness of equipment and the workplace.Proving logistical support for school events and activities, including transporting, and arranging furniture and equipment.Assisting with the preparation of equipment, apparatus, and substances for laboratory lessons.Any other assigned duties.Food Laboratories
Preparation and division of ingredients before every practical lesson.Maintenance of Food Labs in terms of food safety, checking and maintaining equipment and utensils.Inventory and stock taking of resources e.g. books, equipment and utensils.Cleanliness of Food labs at the end of the day when there are lessons.Assisting the teacher during practical session e.g. ensuring that students observe safety rules, guiding students in preparation skills.Checking of stocks of ingredients at the end of the week / month.Administration – Checking and filing of invoices.Science Laboratories
Cleaning of apparatus and equipmentCleaning of dirty apparatus e.g. brushing and washing of test tubes, beakers, etcCleaning of benches, chairs, cupboards, and drawers when requiredAssists to lay out materials, apparatus and chemicals for science practical, programmes, practical tests and examinations (internal)Assists to replenish apparatus and chemicals for science practical and programmes when neededWashing of safety goggles termlyTo help with the cleaning of preparation rooms and all the six Science laboratories during the school holidays.Tell employers what skills you have
