Roles & Responsibilities

KNOWLEDGE PLATFORMS WORKSTREAM

The Centre for Liveable Cities (CLC) Limited is a knowledge centre under the Ministry of National Development with a mission to distil, create and share knowledge on liveable and sustainable cities. The Centre’s work spans research, capability development, advisory and knowledge platforms, including the World Cities Summit. MANAGER (PARTNERSHIPS & ENGAGEMENTS)

As part of its mission to distil, create and share knowledge on liveable and sustainable cities, CLC manages relationships with a large number of external partners, including foreign leaders and city governments around the world, private corporations, research institutes, international organisations and NGOs. The Manager (Partnerships & Engagements) is part of the team that is responsible for CLC and World Cities Summit (WCS) partnerships and engagements, at both strategic and operational levels.

At the organisational level, you will support CLC management by developing the frameworks and protocols for managing external relationships. The framework would entail identifying new partners, assessing existing relationships, leading to the tiering, resourcing and assignment of partnership engagement. The protocol for each partnership would entail clarifying partnership objectives and developing strategies for working with them. Responsibility for managing individual partnership relationships would be shared out amongst CLC’s workstreams, as appropriate and consulted with the relevant agencies in the Ministry of National Development (MND), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) etc.

At the operational level, you will be part of the team to manage many of CLC’s relationships, particularly those with foreign government entities, international organisations and city networks. The Partnerships and Engagements team includes staff responsible for high level WCS engagements – including invitations, hospitality, organising networking sessions and engagements with foreign Ministers, Mayors, city leaders.

Key responsibilities :

Business Partnerships

  • Review and develop a partnership programme to build a robust pipeline of potential partners for early engagement and subsequent conversion;
  • Identify and cultivate new industry-centric private partners for event sponsorships and content creation;

International Relations Engagement

  • Oversee the management, adoption and continuous improvement of the newly implemented customer relationship management system;
  • Leverage on technology to ensure timely data documentation, enhanced business performance, and continuous improvements of operational processes within the International Relations team;
  • Engage and maintain good relationships with CLC partners and entities, with a special focus on engaging Ministers, Mayors and city leaders from other countries;
  • Work closely with MND International Relations team and MFA when engaging foreign leaders and government entities; and

  • Requirements

  • A tertiary qualification in business administration, international relations, or business information systems, complemented by a demonstrated ability to work independently and think creatively in dynamic environments.
  • Proven resourcefulness in solving complex problems, with a proactive and analytical mindset.
  • A strong blend of technical and managerial capabilities, paired with confident communication skills to effectively engage with senior officials and business leaders.
  • Detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and driven by continuous learning, while also able to collaborate effectively when needed.
