Roles & Responsibilities
Supervisors and general foremen in building and related trades supervise activities of a distinct unit at a construction site, control and coordinate the activities of workers who are engaged in various occupations.
Tasks include :
Interpreting specifications and job orders
Determining sequence of operations and use of equipment
Estimating manpower requirements
Assigning duties to workers
Analysing and resolving work problems
Coordinating the work of one or more units with other units
Recommending or initiating personnel action
Supervising co-workers and helping them in their work
Oversee the construction activities and progress, plan, implement and monitor work
Schedule in accordance to the master and detailed work programme
Liaise with Professional Engineer on the Temporary works
Liaise with consultants (QPS) for technical issues and coordinate the site activities with subcontractors
Handle of technical and engineering problems
Maintain quality standards, carry out site inspections and resolve technical issues on time
Prepare report and method statement whenever necessary
Manage and control site safety and neat
Supervise ongoing site activities closely
