Role Description
As the Intermediaries Channel Head, you will oversee the Agents and Brokers channels. You will develop and execute business strategies, identify growth opportunities, manage the channel’s budget and resources, and lead and develop your staff members.
You will lead a team of professionals to provide exceptional service to support revenue growth and to achieve customer satisfaction. This includes servicing support to grow new customers and retain existing customers, and driving transformation initiatives to support the organisation’s strategic thrusts.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and communicate a clear vision and strategic direction for the channel, aligning with the organisation’s overall goals.
- Lead a team of professionals to achieve the channel GWP and underwriting profit budget.
- Identify, establish, and nurture partnerships with key stakeholders to promote the sale of insurance products.
- Plan and execute new product development initiatives for business growth.
- Evaluate, underwrite and quote risks for commercial classes in line with Company’s underwriting guidelines and treaty programme.
- Place facultative reinsurance where required.
- Collaborate with the Strategy & Transformation Office (STO) to drive transformation initiatives on products and processes.
- Conduct technical training within the Division to strengthen and enhance underwriting skills.
- Build and nurture high-performing teams by fostering an inclusive and empowering work environment.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related disciplineProfessional insurance qualificationsMinimum 5 years of experience in a similar role in general insuranceDeep understanding of the insurance industry, including regulations and market dynamics.Strong sales and negotiation abilities, with proven track record of achieving results and delivering value for the division and organisationStrategic mindset with strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent networking and communication skillsCollaborative attitude to build trust and rapport with internal and external stakeholdersInspiring leadership style that empowers staff members and create a high-performance teamTell employers what skills you have
