Job description

Operational and project management

  • Lead and oversee all daily shipyard and repair operations to ensure efficiency and productivity.
  • Manage the planning, scheduling, and execution of repair projects, including dry docking, and ensure they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Supervise all phases of work, such as steel fabrication, piping installation, electrical systems, and painting.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and internal departments like procurement and logistics to ensure projects have the necessary resources.
  • Ensure product quality control and that all work complies with regulatory, class, and company standards.

Financial and business management

  • Develop and manage budgets, track expenses, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Take accountability for the business unit's profit and loss (P&L).
  • Engage in business development, identify new prospects, and nurture client relationships.
  • Manage vendor selection, contract negotiations, and procurement for materials and services.

    • Leadership and team management

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise managers, supervisors, and foremen to ensure their teams perform at their best.
  • Develop and implement training programs for craft supervisors and staff.
  • Organize and allocate manpower effectively to meet production demands.
  • Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement across all departments.

    • Client and external relations

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing project updates and addressing concerns.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and classification societies to ensure vessels remain in class.
  • Build positive working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other external partners.
