Operational and project management
- Lead and oversee all daily shipyard and repair operations to ensure efficiency and productivity.
- Manage the planning, scheduling, and execution of repair projects, including dry docking, and ensure they are completed on time and within budget.
- Supervise all phases of work, such as steel fabrication, piping installation, electrical systems, and painting.
- Coordinate with external contractors and internal departments like procurement and logistics to ensure projects have the necessary resources.
- Ensure product quality control and that all work complies with regulatory, class, and company standards.
Financial and business management
Develop and manage budgets, track expenses, and identify opportunities for cost savings.Take accountability for the business unit's profit and loss (P&L).Engage in business development, identify new prospects, and nurture client relationships.Manage vendor selection, contract negotiations, and procurement for materials and services.Leadership and team management
Lead, mentor, and supervise managers, supervisors, and foremen to ensure their teams perform at their best.Develop and implement training programs for craft supervisors and staff.Organize and allocate manpower effectively to meet production demands.Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement across all departments.Client and external relations
