Your new company

This Singapore-based family office has been established for over a decade, offering a stable and dynamic environment. It has an institutional setup with a diverse portfolio of investments and operates across a range of limited companies. The team is collaborative and passionate about maintaining the legacy of the family wealth while seeking innovative strategies to enhance their portfolio. The family office’s headcount in Singapore is 12, with a small banking team based in Financial Controller will take on a leadership role in managing the back-office finance functions. This is a new position that will assume some of the responsibilities previously held by the Managing Director, with a focus on overseeing financial operations, reporting, and managing a team of 2-3 direct reports. As the position will be exposed to significant internal stakeholders, including the board, it requires someone who is proactive, confident, and able to think strategically and outside the box. This is a hands-on role that also involves long-term projects, such as the ongoing implementation of a Bloomberg system.

Your new role

Lead and manage the back-office finance operations for the family office.

Oversee financial reporting, accounting, and analysis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Take ownership of the financial reporting process to internal stakeholders, including the board.

Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the Managing Director and senior leadership.

Collaborate closely with internal teams, especially on investment-related projects and long-term financial initiatives.

Manage and mentor a small finance team (2-3 direct reports).

Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other service providers.

Participate in ongoing system upgrades and implementations, particularly the Bloomberg system.

Drive process improvements and identify ways to enhance operational efficiency.

Manage complex financial transactions, accounting, and compliance for a range of limited companies and investment vehicles.

Help shape and implement financial strategies as the family office grows and diversifies.

What you'll need to succeed

Proven experience in a financial leadership role (ideally with experience in a fund management environment, though open to candidates from other sectors).

Strong technical financial accounting and reporting skills.

Experience managing a small team.

The ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders, including the board.

Demonstrated the ability to think strategically, innovate, and offer new perspectives.

Energetic, hands-on, and enthusiastic with a proactive mindset.

High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure with multiple deadlines.

Previous experience in a family office or similar investment structure is a plus but not required.

Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a range of internal stakeholders.

Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.

Complex fund management experience is ideal, but applicants from different sectors are welcome.

A “think outside the box” attitude and someone who is not afraid to voice opinions and challenge the status quo.

What you'll get in return

Salary Range : SGD 10,000–11,000 per month.

Variable Bonus : 1–2 months.

Medical Insurance : Including dental.

Working Hours : Monday to Friday, 9 : 00 AM to 6 : 00 PM.

Office Location : Suntec, Singapore.
