Roles & Responsibilities
The core purpose of a clinical psychologist in the Division of Specialist Services is to provide psychological assessment, evidence-based psychological interventions for children and adults within a community-based mental health setting. This role focuses on promoting mental health and wellness, reducing the impact of mental health conditions and risk of self-harm, improving individual functioning, supporting recovery, building resilience through evidence-based and culturally sensitive interventions.
Only Candidates who are Registered with Singapore Psychological Society and SRP-registered psychologist will be considered
- To provide evidence-based psychological interventions (e.g., CBT, Schema Therapy, individual Cognitive Stimulation Therapy) for children and adults with mental health difficulties.
- To conduct preliminary assessment and offer case consult during triage and intake process for new clients.
- To conduct neurodevelopmental assessments (e.g., ASD, ADHD) for children and adults.
- To develop and implement individualised treatment plans based on client needs, goals, and evidence-based practices.
- To response with risk assessment, safety planning and crisis intervention for clients presenting with acute psychiatric symptoms or suicidal ideation.
- To maintain timely and accurate case documentations in compliance with agency and funding requirements.
- To provide psychological consultation and contribute to collaborative practices in the context of a multi-disciplinary team, and from a systemic perspective.
- To develop and / or conduct support group / mental wellness programmes (for eg, talk / workshop) for individuals in the community.
- To conduct research to identify gaps, guide practice and contribute to the local evidence base psychological practices.
- Conversant in English and other languages
- Passionate about working as a psychologist in the community setting
- Willing to travel to different centres (including Pioneer & Potong Pasir).
- Willing to conduct home visits and to work at least 1 weekday night.
