Laboratory Attendant

Job Description

Primary responsibilities:

• Assist the department in the daily operations

Specific responsibilities:

• Washing and cleaning of Laboratory glassware and apparatus
• Preparation and packing of sample kits
• General housekeeping of the Laboratory and store
• Receiving incoming samples from customers and registering the samples on the system
• Closing off samples and transferring these completed samples out of the department
• Provide assistance to the Laboratory in the management of samples
• Ensure that the Laboratory's QA procedures on sample handling are adhere to
• Organizing samples and arranging for dispatch by airfreight/seafreight/land
• Preparation of samples and waste solvent from Laboratory for disposal according to safety standards and SOP
• Ensure good housekeeping of the sample stores
• Perform any tasks as when required by management
• Assist in any other logistics duties required by the Laboratory
• Proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) should be worn at required areas.

Qualifications

• Completed GCE’O’ Level, GCE’N’ Level
• Able to coordinate and be a team member towards a common goal
• Multi-tasking with positive working attitude to meet tight deadlines
• Able to maintain highest quality standard all the time
• Able to work independently and to coordinate several activities simultaneously
• Able to interact with all levels of management, suppliers and clients
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Act quickly and decisively
• Works well under pressure
• Fluent English and local language
• Applies judgement and acts according to the SGS standards of ethics and integrit
