THE ROLE

The position is in the corporate legal team for Korn Ferry, a global organizational consulting firm. This position will report to the Associate General Counsel, APAC and can expect close guidance from the global AGC, Co-Chief of Privacy. The position is primarily focused on commercial contract review, data privacy protection and negotiation.

Primary responsibilities include :

Review and negotiate commercial client contracts
Interface with internal clients to ensure client contracts reflect agreed business terms and are consistent with company policies and approved legal terms and conditions
Advise Korn Ferry and its stakeholders on data privacy-related matters including compliance with data protection frameworks such as PIPL and other applicable laws and regulations in the APAC countries
Drive data privacy projects and initiatives in APAC
Coordinate requirements from clients in relation to data privacy with internal Privacy, Security and Technology Operations teams
Perform privacy impact assessments and develop a deep understanding of how data is processed by Korn Ferry’s products and technology

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, preferably including at least 2 years of privacy experience. The ideal candidate will have :

Contract drafting, reviewing, and negotiation skills and experience

Ability to identify legal risks, effectively communicate critical issues, and work toward solutions

High energy with a sense of urgency

Attention to detail, organized and efficient

Ability to build rapport and trust within legal team and with internal clients

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to effectively prioritize and simultaneously handle multiple tasks

Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as function well with independent responsibilities

A strong drive to improve functional results, strong decision-making abilities and a desire to execute flawlessly

Strong follow-through skills

Licensed to practice law in either Singapore or Australia

Fluency in Mandarin Chinese (written and spoken)

Familiarity with litigation and / or employment laws in APAC countries is a plus

This is a hybrid position and the successful candidate is encouraged to be in office 2-3 days a week.
