Director, Asia Pacific Operations & Business Development

The Opportunity
BPE Singapore is the established Asia Pacific regional headquarters for a leading, high-growth Indian manufacturer of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems and critical power protection equipment. We are seeking an entrepreneurial and strategic Director to take full P&L ownership, manage all regional operations, and drive aggressive market expansion across Southeast Asia.
This is a critical leadership role requiring the successful candidate to also serve as a legally registered Director with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) , ensuring full compliance and governance for the Singapore entity.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Business Growth (P&L Ownership)
- Regional Revenue Target : Develop and execute a robust business plan to achieve an overall turnover of S$15 million across Southeast Asia within the next 3 years .
- Market Expansion : Identify new territories, market segments, and strategic vertical opportunities (e.g., Data Centres, Industrial, Healthcare) for the company's UPS and power equipment portfolio.
- Sales Strategy : Define pricing, distribution, and go-to-market strategies tailored for the diverse Southeast Asian markets.
2. Channel & Partner Management
Partner Identification : Actively scout, vet, and onboard high-potential channel partners, distributors, and system integrators across key Southeast Asian countries.Development & Enablement : Create and implement comprehensive partner enablement programs, including sales training, technical certifications, and marketing support, to ensure rapid growth.Performance Management : Manage partner relationships, monitor sales pipelines, set growth targets, and conduct regular performance reviews to maximize channel effectiveness.3. Corporate Governance & Operations
ACRA Directorship : Fulfill all legal and fiduciary duties as a registered Director with ACRA, ensuring the Singapore entity adheres to all local statutory and regulatory requirements.Operational Management : Oversee and manage all core business functions of BPE Singapore, including Finance, Human Resources, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Administration.Compliance : Establish and maintain stringent internal controls, ethical standards, and legal compliance frameworks across all regional operations.Reporting : Serve as the primary liaison between the Asia Pacific operations and the India-based parent company, providing accurate, timely, and strategic reporting on financial performance and market progress.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Achievement of S$15 million cumulative regional turnover within 36 months.Successful registration and maintenance of ACRA Directorship status.Establishment of a minimum of 5 new high-performing channel partners in key markets.Operational efficiency and successful management of the Singapore cost centre budget.Qualifications & Requirements
Experience : Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in senior management, with at least 3 years in a regional / APAC leadership role within the Power Electronics, UPS, Renewable Energy, or related industrial equipment sector.Education : Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is highly desirable.Legal Standing : Proven eligibility and willingness to be registered as a Company Director with ACRA.Business Acumen : Demonstrated success in developing and scaling B2B channel distribution networks across Southeast Asia.Sales Track Record : A verifiable track record of achieving ambitious sales targets and driving significant revenue growth in the region.Skills : Exceptional leadership, negotiation, cross-cultural communication, and financial management skills.Tell employers what skills you have
