Our Client is a waste management, recycling, and remediation company. This role is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and reliability of mechanical equipment and systems within a plant or facility.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and liaise with the plant commissioning team on the inspection, testing, and repair of equipment handled by the maintenance team.
- Plan, direct, and supervise maintenance activities, including contractors, ensuring adequate supply of materials to keep machines and equipment in optimal condition.
- Enforce quality and safety procedures and policies to maintain production reliability and operational efficiency.
- Promote best engineering practices through effective use of manpower and close coordination with other departments on plant matters.
- Assist the Mechanical Engineer in maintenance work planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Assign tasks to team members, monitor progress, and ensure work quality and deadlines are met.
- Register, control, and maintain asset management records within the CMMS.
- Maintain adequate inventories of tools, supplies, and spare parts for equipment repair.
- Perform hands‑on mechanical fitter duties (e.g., levelling, alignment, grinding, cutting, welding, lifting) as required.
- Act as a millwright to service, repair, and overhaul equipment such as pumps and blowers when necessary.
- Supervise and coordinate contractors for statutory equipment inspections, testing, and site activities involving piping, lifting, scaffolding, insulation, painting, and refractory work.
- Foster a proactive and collaborative maintenance team by working closely with employees, technical personnel, and contractors.
- Provide job training, guidance, and conduct MSRA (Method Statement & Risk Assessment) where necessary.
- Conduct site checks, dimension measurements, and provide input to engineers on improvement, modification, and investment plans, including manpower and equipment estimates.
- Support storekeeper activities such as stock preservation and inventory checks.
- Uphold workplace organization standards by conducting routine 5S at workshops, stores, and site work areas.
- Perform any other duties assigned to support plant operations.
- Demonstrate commitment to the company's rules by setting a strong safety example in daily routines.
- Adhere strictly to ethics and compliance standards, maintaining professional conduct at all times.
