Sign Language Interpreter (Part-time /
Full-time Position with flexi-work
arrangements)

Responsibilities :
Perform spoken English to Singapore Sign Language (SgSL)
and SgSL to spoken English interpretation duties in a variety of
settings and locations
Deliver sign language
interpretation in a professional and ethical manner
Consistently undertake professional training and
development
Guide Community Sign Language
interpreters as needed
Develop and maintain
resources such as training materials
Support
the organisation's events and
activities
To succeed
in this role, you should :
Be fluent in English and competent in Singapore Sign
Language (SgSL)
Be comfortable working with
people of all ages and backgrounds
Have a
strong desire to continuously learn and develop
Be comfortable working in a variety of settings, such as
in classrooms, corporate meetings, in front of a camera for
broadcasts, in front of audiences, and online in a Video Relay
Service
Have good mental and physical
stamina
Be able to deal with ambiguity while
maintaining a strong sense of ethics
Be able
to work independently with little supervision and be adaptable to
changing work and environmental conditions
Be
able and willing to be rostered to work on shifts, which could
include weekends, nights and public holidays as needed
Be proficient in working with digital tools, especially
Google Workspace
Have a recognised diploma or
degree in any field
Candidates with
experience working or volunteering with the deaf
preferred.
Flexi-Work Arrangements available.
5-day work week on roster.
Duration : 2-year
contract appointment, with potential for
renewal.
