Roles & Responsibilities
You will oversee the technical, management, and organizational aspects of construction projects . The role ensures projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with local quality and safety standards set by authorities like the Building and Construction Authority (BCA).
Key responsibilities
Project coordination and supervision
- Supervise and coordinate daily site activities, directing construction workers and subcontractors.
- Act as the primary link between the project manager, consultants, architects, subcontractors, and on-site construction teams.
- Coordinate with government agencies, including the BCA and Land Transport Authority (LTA), for necessary approvals and clearances.
- Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of work schedules to meet project deadlines.
Technical execution and quality assurance
Interpret and accurately implement project plans, technical drawings, and design specifications on-site.Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks to ensure materials and workmanship meet project requirements and standards.Provide technical guidance and engineering solutions to site supervisors and foremen to resolve issues in a timely manner.Proactively identify and recommend solutions to improve site operations and workflow efficiency.Safety and compliance management
Enforce and monitor strict health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.Ensure that all construction activities fully comply with Singapore's building codes and regulatory standards.Maintain comprehensive site documentation, including progress reports, daily site diaries, and quality assurance records.Resource and cost management
Organize and manage the requisition, delivery, and storage of materials and equipment, tracking inventory to minimize waste.Work with the project manager to monitor project costs and variations, helping to ensure the project stays within its budget.Skills and qualifications
Academic qualifications and licensing
A Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.A degree from a university recognized by the Professional Engineers Board (PEB) is often a prerequisite for obtaining professional registration.Prior experience in building or civil engineering projects in Singapore is generally preferredTechnical skills
