The job-holder assesses, identifies, implements, co-ordinatesand evaluates departmental nursing staffs' continuing education,training and development plans to ensure provision of competent andquality patient care. They are responsible for nursing staffinduction, clinical education / training, in-service education,personal and professionalgrowth.

PrimaryResponsibilities :
- Serves as resourceperson in education / nursing training matters and clinical issues toprovide high quality standard of care
- Plansand provides direct clinical supervision for nursing students andjunior staff
- Facilitates the clinical learningenvironment of nursing students to improve nursing students'learning experiences
- Monitors and evaluatesnursing students' feedback; develop action-plans collaborativelywith ward nursing colleagues to improve nursing students' learningexperiences
- Collaborates with educationinstitution to ensure nursing students' application of learningint- practice, e.g. hand hygiene compliance
- Utilizes effective teaching strategies to developcritical thinking and clinical reasoning among nursing students,newly recruited nurses and nursing staff
- Coaches preceptors and clinical instructor on their roleeffectiveness and assessment of nursing trainees and junior nurse'sperformance e.g. formative and summative assessment, learningaction plans
- Conducts nursing stafforientation, training and continuing education programmes tomaintain level of competency
- Conducts learningneeds analysis to identify learning gaps and training needs ofnursing staff at ward / cluster level
- Providescareer counselling / coaching for all levels of nursing staffs'professional development
- Responsible tomaintain and perform the following core competenciescompetently :

- Reviews andrevises existing curriculum following constructive recommendationon training / practice issues in order to meet the currenteducational needs of the hospital

- Mentors and inducts potential actingnurse clinician for education track
- Workscollaboratively with ward / unit / cluster Nursing Officers and SeniorNursing Officers to [i] maintain clinical standards; [ii] conducttotal performance management (includes career coaching and staffdevelopment) and [iii] assume joint managerial responsibilities,e.g. patient's and / or family's feedback, eHORetc

Registered Nurse with at least 9 years ofpost-registration clinical experience, of which a minimum of one(1) year experience in clinical teaching / professional developmentand continuing education at an acute hospital setting, and 2 yearsas Assistant Nurse ClinicianDiploma inNursing with relevant post-basic advanced certification and Degreein Nursing from recognized training institution as approved bySingapore Nursing Board.
