Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary :

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Network Support Engineer to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting our organization’s network infrastructure. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal network performance, security and reliability.

Responsibilities :

Plan and deploy network solutions to ensure optimal connectivity across the organization.
Configure and install routers, switches, firewalls and other network hardware.
Assist with the integration of new technologies and systems into existing network infrastructure.
Diagnose and resolve network issues such as connectivity problems, slow performance and hardware failures.
Use diagnostic tools (ping, tracert, etc.) to identify and solve networking issues.
Work with other IT teams to resolve complex network-related problems.
Monitor the health and performance of the network, ensuring uptime and availability.
Perform regular system updates and firmware upgrades on networking equipment.
Implement and maintain network security protocols and procedures, such as firewalls and VPNs.
Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes and procedures.
Prepare reports on network performance and troubleshooting cases.
Provide support for end-users who are experiencing network issues.
Offer guidance and training to other IT team members or users regarding network best practices.
Work closely with other departments, such as system administrators, to ensure network compatibility with other IT systems.
Participate in meetings to review network needs and ensure that solutions align with company objectives.
Assist with implementing and managing network security tools like firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and anti-virus solutions.
Maintain best practices for network security to protect against unauthorized access.

Requirements :

Minimum of CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification, demonstrating foundational knowledge of networking.

Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).

Experience with Cisco network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls).

Knowledge of routing and switching protocols (e.g., OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, etc.).

Familiarity with network security practices and VPN technologies.

Basic experience in network troubleshooting and support.

Experience configuring and maintaining network hardware and devices.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Excellent communication skills, particularly in a technical support capacity.

Attention to detail and the ability to document processes thoroughly.

Experience with wireless networking technologies.

Knowledge of cloud-based networking solutions.

Familiarity with network management tools and software (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark).
