Roles & Responsibilities
1. Transport & Delivery
- Safely operate assigned vehicle to transport goods from origin to destination.
- Ensure timely delivery according to dispatch schedules and client expectations.
- Verify cargo matches delivery documentation (e.g., delivery orders, manifests).
2. Vehicle Maintenance & Safety
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections (brakes, lights, tires, fluid levels).Report mechanical issues promptly and coordinate with maintenance teams.Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the vehicle.3. Compliance & Documentation
Adhere to traffic laws, company SOPs, and regulatory requirements (e.g., weight limits, route restrictions).Accurately complete delivery logs, fuel receipts, and inspection checklists.Secure necessary permits or clearance for restricted zones or cross-border deliveries.4. Client Interaction & Professional Conduct
Represent the company professionally during pickups and drop-offs.Communicate courteously with clients, obtain signatures, and handle basic queries.Escalate delivery issues (e.g., delays, damaged goods) to dispatch or supervisors.5. Cargo Handling & Security
Ensure proper loading / unloading procedures to prevent damage or injury.Secure cargo using appropriate restraints (e.g., straps, locks).Monitor temperature or special handling requirements for sensitive goods.6. Route Planning & Problem Solving
Use GPS or route plans to optimize delivery paths.Adapt to traffic, weather, or road closures with minimal disruption.Coordinate with dispatch for rerouting or urgent delivery changes.Tell employers what skills you have
