The Chief Steward is responsible for all aspects of cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation of operating equipment at the front and back of restaurant, bar and for events. He / she oversees all cleaning activities, both in-house and outsourced to ensure efficiency and high standards of smooth operations in all restaurants, bars and events. He / she manages cleaning and resourcing expenses while maintaining consistent and high standards of hygiene and sanitation.
Our Expectations :
- Ensure cleanliness and quality of all operating equipment in all restaurants, bars and event spaces are of a very high standard.
- Monitor and manage inventory and ensure breakages, pilferages etc are accounted for while maintaining a healthy par inventory level to support operations.
- Periodic review of operations flow to maximize productivity and for seamless operations.
- Recommend, review and monitor effectiveness and efficiency of outsourced contractor.
- Keep abreast and updated of latest trends and technology to enhance the cleaning and sanitation capability of the stewarding function.
- Work close with Purchasing and recommend fit for purpose cleaning equipment and cleaning products. Monitor use and effectiveness of equipment and cleaning products for enhance performance and / or solutioning.
- Work closely with Hygiene Manager to conduct regular audits to ensure attainment and / or maintenance of sanitation standards by private certification bodies e.g. HACCP or government regulatory requirements. Ensure all standards are adhered to at all times.
- Identify training needs of Associates and conduct briefing and / or training to equip them with necessary skills to perform their duties effectively.
- Schedule rosters for all associates in the Stewarding Department and ensure that manpower is used efficiently.
- Supervise and coach associates and equip them with the necessary skills to complete the required tasks based on the set standards.
We are seeking a driven and self motivated individual with at least 6 years of relevant managerial experience in Stewarding, with a luxury brand, specializing in high-volume banqueting. If you have experience managing a large and diverse stewarding team comprising of both in-house and outsourced labour, possess strong working knowledge of effective use of cleaning chemicals and equipment, solid inventory management and breakage control experience, write in to have a chat with us!
