Job Summary :
The Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operations on a construction project. They ensure work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to specified quality standards. The role involves technical supervision, site coordination, and communication with subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities :
- Supervise and manage on-site construction activities.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards.
- Interpret and implement technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Liaise with architects, consultants, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Monitor project progress and prepare reports for management.
- Provide technical advice and support to the construction team.
- Set out, level, and survey the site using appropriate tools.
- Oversee material usage and ensure timely ordering and delivery.
- Manage and resolve any unexpected technical difficulties or construction issues.
- Ensure that all site personnel adhere to site safety procedures and policies.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to standards.
- Assist with cost control and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Maintain site records including daily diaries, progress photos, and inspection logs.
Working Conditions :
Primarily site-based (outdoor environment).May involve working long hours, weekends, or shifts depending on project needs .Required Qualifications and Skills :
Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.Proven experience in a site engineering role within the construction industry or related field.Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.Proficient in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.Willingness to learn, adapt, and work in a fast-paced environmentStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities.Familiarity with surveying tools and techniquesTell employers what skills you have
