Job Summary :
The ACMV Design Engineer is responsible for the design, coordination, and documentation of air conditioning and mechanical ventilation systems in building and infrastructure projects. The role involves technical design, authority submissions, BIM modeling, and collaboration with project teams to ensure compliance with local codes and timely project delivery.
Key Responsibilities :
Design & Engineering
- Design ACMV systems including ductwork, piping, ventilation rates, and equipment selection.
- Perform heat load calculations, ESP (External Static Pressure), and pump friction loss analysis.
- Prepare detailed design drawings and specifications using AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and BIM tools.
- Ensure designs comply with SS553, SS554, Singapore Fire Code, and Green Mark standards.
Project Coordination
Collaborate with architects, consultants, and contractors to integrate ACMV systems into overall building design.Assist in resolving on-site design issues and participate in design changes.Support project scheduling and ensure timely completion of design deliverables.Authority Submissions
Prepare and submit drawings and documentation to relevant authorities (e.g., BCA, SCDF).Ensure compliance with ETTV, RETV, and RTTV calculations and guidelines.Documentation & QS Support
Assist in tender documentation, material take-offs, and procurement planning.Evaluate subcontractor progress claims and variation orders.Participate in budgeting and final account preparation.BIM Modeling
Develop accurate 3D BIM models of ACMV systems including ductwork, piping, and equipment.Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure clash-free integration.Requirements : Education
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of ACMV design experience in the Singapore construction industry.Technical Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, and other BIM software.Familiarity with local codes and standards (SS553, SS554, Green Mark, Fire Code).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Soft Skills
