Temp UX Researcher

Roles & Responsibilities

Employment Type: Contract (5 months renewable)

Working Hours: 8.30am to 6.00pm, Monday to Thursday, 8:30am to 5.30pm, Friday (Hybrid Working Arrangement)

Location: Central

Salary: Up to $9,000

We are looking for a UI/UX Designer with strong experience in designing intuitive digital experiences and a foundational understanding of frontend development concepts. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of hands-on experience in UI/UX design, with the ability to collaborate closely with developers to ensure seamless translation of design into product.

Responsibilities

• Design user-centered interfaces, journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs for web and/or mobile applications.
• Work closely with frontend engineers to ensure that design concepts are technically feasible and translated accurately in development.
• Conduct UX research, usability testing, stakeholder interviews, and journey mapping to validate user needs.
• Develop and maintain design systems, UI component libraries, and brand consistency across products.
• Apply best practices in interaction design, accessibility, and responsive design.
• Use analytics or usability insights to improve design effectiveness and user behaviour outcomes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.
• Stay updated on UI/UX tools, trends, and emerging design technologies.

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Design, Interaction Design, Multimedia, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of UI/UX design experience for digital products (web and/or mobile).
• Strong proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, Illustrator, Photoshop.
• Basic foundation in coding or frontend concepts (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, responsive layouts).
• Understanding of frontend development frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue) from a design-to-development perspective.
• Experience working with design systems, accessibility guidelines, and responsive UI frameworks.
• Strong communication and presentation skills to articulate design decisions and user rationale.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UI/UX project examples.
