Overview

Join to apply for the English Teacher role at Cosmo 1 : 1 (formerly ClassUp), the premier online learning platform that connects K-12 students with tutors for personalized lessons. Tutors set a flexible and consistent schedule. We teach math, ELA, and SAT prep, with Cosmo-provided learning plans for tutors to use. Classes are 50 minutes, 1-on-1, with a set weekly time.

You will build a welcoming and engaging learning environment, be reliable and well-prepared, and work as a positive role model for students who come to class on time and ready to learn. The base pay is $20 Singapore Dollars plus incentives and bonuses.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personalized 1-on-1 instruction for your students
  • Update your availability in the Cosmo App in a timely manner
  • Prepare appropriate lesson materials for the student’s age and ability
  • Submit class feedback after each lesson
  • Communicate with parents and students in a professional manner
  • Attend all classes on time and in a professional setting
  • Communicate with Cosmo staff

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or Masters degree from a US, Canadian, UK, or Australian college / university, or a Bachelors degree from the following Singapore-based institutions : National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore Management University (SMU), Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), and Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS)
  • 3 years of experience teaching grades K-12 in math, ELA, or SAT prep
  • Experience with K-12 ELA / Math standards
  • Teaching license preferred but not required
  • Fast and reliable internet connection and access to a Windows or Mac PC with a minimum CPU requirement
  • Able to commit to a minimum of 6 months of teaching with Cosmo 1 : 1
  • Available between 6-9 AM EST or 3-10 PM EST on weekdays or weekends
  • Minimum of 20 hours of availability per week
  • Access to a private and quiet location
  • Strong passion for helping students learn; patient, adaptable, approachable, empathetic, enthusiastic, and reliable
