Job Purpose
To monitor, analyse, manage and report on the operational risks of Singapore Branch on a prudent and timely basis.
Job Responsibilities
- Promote awareness of operational risk and the adoption of a healthy risk culture across the Branch, contribute to risk appetite setting exercises and update department procedures manuals with respect to operational risk management.
- Review and challenge where necessary the Business Unit / Support Unit’s identification, classification and mitigation of inherent operational risks within their processes and assess if there are adequate procedures, tools and resources to monitor, measure, manage, mitigate the same.
- Ensure that Key Risk Indicators set by Business Units / Support Units are meaningful and adequately cover the Unit / Branch’s scope of activities, review and sign off on monthly reporting and escalate any significant breach(es) of Key Risk Indicators to Head Office.
- Participate in all new product approvals and annual reviews of existing products.
- Call out any unreported operational risk incidents, final arbiter of case manager assignment, provide guidance on reporting standards, monitor the timeliness, completeness and quality of reporting, conduct independent investigations, when necessary, monitor organizational risk trends and escalate significant incidents to HO.
- Review and sign off on the adequacy of all outsourcing initiatives against internal and regulatory requirements and maintain an up to date and accurate Branch outsourcing register.
- Support the production of monthly / semi-annual internal ORM reports as well as all regulatory reporting to the Monetary Authority of Singapore (“MAS”) and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (“HKMA”).
- Liase with and provide all necessary support to Head Office to provide the necessary operational risk management training for the Branch.
- Co-ordinate, manage and drive operational risk management projects in close coordination with the respective Business Units / Support Units, Head Office and where required, Parent office in China.
- Attend to queries relating to operational risk management from Head Office, auditors and regulatory bodies.
- To perform any other assignments from time to time as required by management.
Qualifications
