Description
The
Department of Communications and New Media at the National
University of Singapore invites applications for a tenure-track
position at the Assistant Professor (Presidential Young Professor)
rank in critical AI. We are looking for outstanding candidates who
take critical and cultural approaches to the study of artificial
intelligence, in relation to technology and culture. Areas of
specialization may include (but are not limited
to) :
Database, models, and representation
and sustainability
development
culture
security
Successful talented young career
candidates with excellent research track records will be considered
for the National University of Singapore Presidential Young
Professorship (NUS PYP) scheme, which includes a start-up research
grant up to SGD 750,000, scholarships to hire PhD students, and an
award of SGD 250,000 in white space funding for innovative
projects.

Qualifications
The
position requires a doctorate in Communication, Cultural Studies,
Science and Technology Studies (STS) or a closely related
discipline (e.g. Sociology or Anthropology) by date of appointment.

more years post-PhD, the referees should not be limited to
supervisors. Referees should compare the applicant's research
performance to individuals at equivalent and top institutions or
