Job Description

The successful candidate will work with Dr Ying Kai LOH on the synthesis and isolation of next-generation carbene species under a project on Breaking the Octet Rule : From Octet-Defying Carbon Species to Transition Metal Surrogates.

The main responsibilities of the position include :

1) Setting up / managing the lab

2) Conduct experiments

3) Mentor undergraduate / graduate students

Qualifications

Qualifications / Discipline :

MSc in Chemistry

Skills :

Schlenk line and glovebox techniques for chemical synthesis

Experience :

Handling air- and moisture-sensitive compounds
