Job Description

Position : Principal Structure Design Engineer (Shipbuilding)
Well Established Singapore Based Marine & Offshore MNC
Working Hours : Monday - Friday (7 : 30am – 5 : 00pm)
Salary (commensurate with experience) : Up to $9,000 + Variable Bonus
Working Location : Tuas
Company Transport Provided
Outpatient Medical Benefits Provided
Duration : Permanent
Industry : Marine & Offshore

Main Responsibilities :

Develop structural design to comply with Class and technical specification requirements within assigned schedule.

Responsible for delivering the respective project design drawing and document according to project plan schedule. Shall take on project lead role.

Review external designer’s pre-contract technical specifications, general arrangement and drawing lists.

Liaise with Owner and Classification Society for the specific design requirement compliance, review, and approval.

Performing FE analysis using FEMAP is an advantage.

Review project team members drawings, calculations or documents prior submission.

Perform structural calculation, rudder calculation and design.

Prepare optimized arrangement & detail structure concept.

Prepares sourcing technical specifications for fittings related to structure (special material / construction, rudder, etc.).

Coordinates with detail designer / production designer and checks their processes and output.

Communicate with the person in charge of production on trouble shooting and visiting on-site if needed.

Requirements :

Minimum Diploma in Marine or Mechanical Engineering.

At least 10 years of relevant working experience in the marine industry with structure newbuild engineering design.

Familiar with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, AVEVA or FEMAP.

Good communication and analytical skills.
