Roles & Responsibilities
Singapore Sports School is seeking a suitable candidate to fill the position of Senior Coach / Coach (Pistol), Shooting Academy.
You will be responsible for planning, implementing, evaluating and improving the training and competition plans for student-athletes towards high performance in sports, based on long-term athlete development principles, under the guidance of the Shooting Academy Head Coach. You will keep track of the progress of each student-athlete and provide regular updates to the Shooting Academy, the student-athletes and their parents.
You will also be expected to support the Shooting Academy in talent identification, including implementing our Learn-to-Shoot programme for aspiring shooters. You will work with the Head Coach, General Manager, fellow coaches, school staff and external stakeholders to achieve the sporting goals and holistic development of the student-athletes under your care.

Key Responsibilities :
1. Student-Athlete Development
- Establish, coordinate and conduct age-appropriate training programme for the Shooting Academy’s youth athletes (ages 12-21 years-old) under the guidance of the Head Coach
- Support the Head Coach to establish and implement effective monitoring and assessment strategies and tools to assess performance progression of all student-athletes under your charge
- Mentor and guide fellow coaches to enhance coaching and optimise student-athletes’ performance (Senior Coach)
- Assist in talent identification and selection of aspiring national athletes
- Assist in implementing the Learn-to-Shoot programme and related administrative tasks
- Support a conducive environment within the Shooting Academy to inculcate values and socio-emotional competencies for all-rounded development of student-athletes to become learned champions with character
- Build a strong culture of trust and support among the student-athletes
- Lead the student-athletes in local and overseas competitions as required
2. Effective Communication and Partnerships
Work closely as a team with the Shooting Academy Head Coach, fellow coaches and General ManagerAdopt an open-mindset to the management of student-athletes while working with relevant stakeholders to manage the student-athletes’ physical and mental well-being.Ensure regular communication with stakeholders such as teachers, mentors, boarding colleagues and parents to ensure holistic development and management of student-athletesNurture a positive climate and culture within the Shooting Academy3. Other Duties
Prepare reports of student-athletes under your charge as required by the schoolSupport the Academy to ensure smooth running and safety of the Academy’s daily training environmentContribute to school projects as requiredRequirements :
At least 3 years of competitive coaching experience with elite and developmental youth athletes, preferably with experience bringing athletes to regional / international championships.Possesses technical expertise in 10m Air Pistol eventsPossesses at least SG-Coach Level 1 certification or equivalent and is registered with the National Registry of Coaches (NROC). For foreign coach selected for the position, Singapore Sports School will facilitate the registration with the NROC.Displays good understanding of sports science as applied to elite youth sports based on long term athlete development principlesCompetent in values inculcation and character development for student-athletesGood planning, administrative and organisational skillsAble to communicate well in English with student-athletes and stakeholdersTell employers what skills you have
