This role is responsible for leading safety and engineering controls, particularly within laser and optical environments, to foster and maintain a zero-incident safety culture. Key responsibilities include developing repeatable production processes and enabling operations to deliver products that meet the organization’s Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) targets. The role also involves delivering laser safety training, conducting risk assessments and audits, and advising on engineering solutions to support both safety and quality goals.
Job Description :
- Lead the implementation of engineering controls and training programs to achieve a zero-incident safety culture, including conducting laser safety risk assessments and audits.
- Provide safety and quality guidance during daily Tier meetings to ensure effective communication and compliance.
- Collaborate with Design Engineering to ensure new products are manufacturable and meet safety requirements, championing Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and robust testing strategies.
- Prepare design packages and process documentation for production transfer; lead the development and commissioning of tooling and automated test systems.
- Conduct and support risk assessments, implement process controls, and oversee technician training.
- Provide technical leadership, guide product development meetings, and resolve escalated technical issues using structured problem-solving methods.
- Drive process improvement initiatives and lead Design of Experiments (DOE) projects to improve yield, increase efficiency, and reduce waste.
- Lead the development of optical measurement systems, drive internal quality initiatives, and resolve technical challenges related to optical and electronic systems.
