Roles & Responsibilities

Position Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Finance Controller to establish, oversee, and scale the finance operations of our clients Singapore business. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strategic vision and operational execution. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in asset-heavy industries and ideally within Hyperscale Data Center operations, with proven expertise in building finance and accounting functions from the ground up.

You will play a key role in ensuring financial governance, operational excellence, and compliance while supporting sustainable business growth and large-scale infrastructure investment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Finance Operations Setup : Lead the design and establishment of end-to-end finance and accounting processes, including policies, systems, controls, and reporting structures.
  • Accounting & Reporting : Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including GL, AP, AR, reconciliations, and statutory reporting in compliance with Singapore FRS and group standards.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting : Develop and manage annual budgets, long-term forecasts, and cash flow models tailored to asset-heavy, capex-intensive businesses.
  • Capex & Asset Management : Implement processes to manage high-value capital expenditure, asset tracking, depreciation, and lifecycle costing.
  • Project Finance & Controls : Partner with engineering, construction, and operations teams to monitor project budgets, costs, and financial milestones.
  • Audit & Compliance : Manage statutory audits, tax filings, and ensure full compliance with local regulations and corporate governance standards.
  • System Implementation : Lead ERP / finance system implementation or optimization to enable automation, scalability, and transparency in reporting.
  • Business Partnering : Work closely with senior leadership to provide insights, risk assessments, and financial advice on major decisions, investments, and contracts.
  • Team Leadership : Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of integrity, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; CPA / CA / ACCA qualified strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong background in asset-heavy industries such as data centers, infrastructure, energy, utilities.
  • Prior experience setting up finance operations and building accounting structures from scratch is highly desirable.
  • Expertise in Singapore statutory compliance, tax, audit, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven experience managing capex-heavy projects, project finance, and cost control in large-scale environments.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP / financial systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.) and ability to drive system implementation.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, with strong business acumen.
