Roles & Responsibilities
COMPANY DESCRIPTION
The National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) is the steward of the City of Good vision for Singapore, where individuals, organisations, and leaders come together to give their best for others. Through our brands, programmes, and initiatives, we facilitate partnerships with non-profits, organisations, public sector bodies, and individuals to enliven the giving ecosystem within Singapore. We invite you to join us in building a #CityofGood together.
The Director, Community Leadership and Partnerships (CLP), leads NVPC's efforts to enable a strong, collaborative and future-ready non-profit giving ecosystem, with a focus on charities and informal giving groups (groundups). This includes providing strategic direction for programmes and initiatives that empower community leaders, charities and groundups—building trust, capability, and connectedness across Singapore's giving landscape.
The portfolio is anchored on two key areas :
- Charity Development - through strengthening people in charities in identified areas.
- Leadership and Performance - Centred on the identified areas of leadership and governance, including milestone programmes to enhance the dynamics between board members and CEOs or Executive Directors of charities.
- Philanthropy Collective - Centred on the identified areas of fundraising, impact measurement and collective philanthropy.
- Segment and Market Development - Responsible for growing adoption and engagement on giving.sg through data-informed strategies that deepen participation across diverse giver segments, as well as the exploration of a ‘High-Performance Charity Model' as a form of broader market development.
- Groundup Development - BAGUS Together - A 5-year project (FY2023-FY2027) funded by Temasek Foundation and Tote Board that supports and amplifies groundup initiatives and citizen changemakers. The evolution of this area of work is the potential strategic alignment with the ‘Next-Gen Givers Strategy' which focuses on growing the pipeline of future volunteers and donors.
Together, these areas contribute to NVPC's mission of growing a culture of giving by strengthening leadership, enabling partnerships, and broadening community participation across the giving ecosystem.m.
