- Casework and Counselling
- To implement professional tools and working templates to guide staff in case assessment
- To monitor the team’s compliance to professional processes (such as the use of tools and templates, adherence to practice policies)
- To represent the Centre in its advocacy efforts for vulnerable families, with the aim of advocating for these families to have access to equal opportunities through collaborative practice with community partners-
To establish documentation and platforms for knowledge dissemination of best practices within the cluster
Groupwork and Community WorkTo steer Centre's strategic initiatives relating to group work and community work for alignment to cluster’s strategiesSupervisory DutiesTo teach / guide supervisors to guide their supervisees in their regular self-assessment of own competencies and interaction with others within different systems (Restorative function)To assess staff capabilities, identify professional growth areas and build training roadmaps to meet the growth areas.Leadership DutiesTo participate in sector level discussions and to implement changes for the CentreTo effectively communicate the vision for change and motivate the team (in the Centre) towards achieving the visionTo co-construct employee development strategies with staff and implement the strategies to grow the teamOperational Managerial Skills (Operational Processes, Policies and Protocols)To support the Head of Centre / Cluster Director in the implementation of cluster’s operational protocols, processes and policiesTo review and oversee the emergency response and crisis management tools.To take the lead in the necessary changes in organizational procedures, structures, protocols and policies to support trauma informed, developmentally sensitive practices and servicesUndertake any other duties assigned by the Head of CentreQualifications, Competencies & Experience
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or Post Graduate Diploma in Social Work from an accredited institution / Degree in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work from an accredited institution At least 10 years relevant experience in social work practice.At least 5 years relevant experience in social work practicePossess relational skills to effectively network with government agencies, churches and community partners to place the agencies and the organization in good standing for the benefit of clients.A good understanding of quality standards required of each service under his purviewKnowledge and ability to engage, assess, provide intervention and evaluate practiceAbility to understand client groups and manage risk and protective factorsAbility to demonstrate reflective practiceAbility to engage stakeholders and partnersKnowledge and application of SASW code of professional ethics and Code of Social Work PracticeKnowledge of systems and availability of resources with a view to represent clients’ needsKnowledge and ability to empower clients to access needed resourcesAbility to identify available resources, social gaps and conduct relevant analysesPossess cultural understanding and social sensitivityUnderstand self, personal values, beliefs and the way these impact the working relationship with clientsEngage in self-care and active learningOffice environment; home visit may be necessaryAble to lead and manage a group of social workers to achieve project outcomesTell employers what skills you have
