Job Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of accounting and financial operations for the Group and its subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with internal policies, statutory regulations, and international accounting standards. The role involves reviewing, verifying, and posting financial transactions, preparing management reports, and supervising the junior finance executive to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable & Expense Management
- Review and verify invoices and staff claims through ApprovalMax, ensuring compliance with company policies and correct cost allocation.
- Match bills to purchase orders (POs), approve and post invoices and staff claims accurately.
- Prepare weekly payment runs.
Cash & Bank Management
Perform and review bank reconciliations for all entities and inter-company transactions.Prepare and update weekly cash forecasts.Review cash forecasts from Cambodia, the Philippines, and Vietnam to ensure sufficient operating funds.Monitor bank balances to maintain minimum safe levels and prevent overdrafts.Propose time deposits for excess funds and coordinate bank forms and authorisations.Inter-Company & Loan Management
Manage inter-company loan operations, including drafting loan agreements and maintaining loan registers.Prepare loan interest computations and repayment schedules for other related entities.Record journal entries for loan interest and intercompany transactions.Review and confirm inter-company loan balances with regional entities.Financial Reporting & Compliance
Prepare monthly management reports and perform variance analyses.Review and finalise GL accounts and reconciliations for month-end and year-end closing.Prepare GST F5 returns, ECI, and CIT submissions in compliance with IRAS requirements.Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and corporate secretaries to meet all statutory reporting deadlines.Update and manage KYC documentation for banks and related entities.Fixed Assets & Accounting Control
Maintain and update the Fixed Asset (FA) Register, including Right-of-Use (ROU) assets and depreciation schedules.Support the Finance Manager in ensuring all accounting entries are accurate, consistent, and compliant with group policies and standards.Assist the Finance Manager with ad-hoc financial analysis, audit coordination, and process improvements.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience, including 2 years in a senior role.Proven experience handling multi-entity or regional accounting (preferably across Southeast Asia).Proficient in Xero, ApprovalMax, or similar accounting systems.Solid knowledge of Singapore accounting standards, GST, ECI, and CIT reporting.Excellent analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.Strong proficiency in Excel and attention to detail.Self-motivated, meticulous, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.Tell employers what skills you have
