JD| Lead Piping Engineer
Role
Overall lead in developing and following through on layout and piping related design and engineering matters concerning Company's products with minimal guidance from Functional Managers. The role entails the responsibility of leading all piping related matters of the projects concerned, including interacting with clients during tendering and execution phases of the EPC projects. Comprehensive experience and exposure to engineering and operational requirements for a range of Marine products are essential to perform this role with limited guidance as expected.
The Lead Piping Engineer is to have a strong background in piping design engineering , with the ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers and designers. The incumbent is to be conversant with widely recognized piping design requirements, codes and standards which is to be applied to Single Point Mooring (SPM), Topside and Subsea systems. Furthermore, shall be conversant in subsea pipeline design and selection, able to understand load interfaces of the subsea pipelines as well as other interfaces like soil and structural interactions.
The Lead Piping (Design) Engineer should ideally have experience of working in a shipyard environment and have shipyard experience.
Core Responsibilities
Reviewing the requirements of the assigned contract or project enquiries and preparing a detailed execution plan covering all layout and piping requirements satisfactorily.Reviewing the specifications and aligning the execution plan in coordination with other disciplines to minimize costs and risks while meeting all agreed safety, quality and schedule requirements of the contract, applicable regulatory rules & requirements, and Offshore norms and standards adopted by the Company.Plan and execute all detailed engineering reviews and design works to class approved AFC details meeting cost and schedule requirements. Plan, schedule, guide and supervise piping designers in their daily works and schedules.Engage clients and their project teams, their advisors, as well as regulatory and classification authorities in establishing compliant and cost-effective solutions from the start, and maintain cordial, professional relationships with all client team members.Carefully monitor piping engineering progress at all stages in all its elements and identify all potential risks sufficiently in advance to coordinate and manage them pro-actively and cost-effectively.Report on work progress and appraise status on all critical elements to your reporting officer(s) and Management as appropriate.Responsible for maintaining and meeting allocated work timing and budgets without compromising the safety, quality and schedule objectives of the project.Provide cost-effective, beneficial solutions and adaptations in daily work and use experience and judgement in analyzing various alternatives and arriving at best outcomes.Understanding complex technical project requirements and staying updated with state-of-the-art solutions.This role will require working with clients, contractors and / or suppliers from varying work cultures, belief systems and norms. Cross-cultural understanding and openness to accept such cultural differences will be expected.Pre-requisites
Familiarity with all regulations, rules, codes, standards, and practices applicable to the design and construction of onshore and offshore mooring structures and
