Job description

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end web applications using Next.js for the frontend and modern backend frameworks for API development.
Implement and manage RESTful APIs that integrate seamlessly with AWS services and external systems.
Develop interactive, map-based web applications using Leaflet.js (or similar mapping libraries), including integration with geospatial APIs and AWS-hosted datasets.
Collaborate closely with UI / UX designers to deliver responsive, accessible, and high-performance web interfaces.
Optimize applications for scalability, observability, and cost-efficiency within a cloud-native AWS environment.
Work with QA and DevOps teams to ensure comprehensive test automation, efficient CI / CD pipelines, and smooth deployments.
Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, API specifications, and deployment workflows.
Apply security best practices and ensure compliance with AWS security and operational standards.

Requirements

Education : Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

Frontend Expertise : Strong proficiency in Next.js (React), including experience with Server-Side Rendering (SSR), Static Site Generation (SSG), and API routes.

API Development : Proven experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs (knowledge of GraphQL is a plus).

Backend Development : Hands‑on experience with Node.js and frameworks such as Express or NestJS.

AWS Proficiency : Practical experience with Amazon OpenSearch Service (search and analytics); AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and S3 for serverless computing and storage solutions.

Geospatial Development : Familiarity with Leaflet.js or similar mapping libraries for geospatial applications.

DevOps Skills : Experience with CI / CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) and Git-based workflows.

Cloud & Containers : Understanding of Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration on AWS.

Soft Skills : Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a track record of delivering high-quality solutions in agile team environments.
