The Therapy Assistant will assist the Therapists in safe resident handling and care during treatments. Your responsibilities include ensuring the smooth operation of the department such as preparing the treatment area, the resident, equipment, and materials.
You will need to
- Assist the Therapist or exercise trainer in all activities of therapy treatment or fitness programme
- Transport residents safely to and from treatment areas, secure them into or onto therapy equipment
- Motivate and assist residents / clients in practicing exercises and functional activities, under broad supervision
- Conduct group exercises such as circuit training or Occupational Therapy (OT) groups
- Observe clients during treatment to note client's responses and progress
- Report to a Therapist or Exercise Trainer for quality care improvement
- Ensure tidiness and cleanliness of the therapy area and disinfect equipment after treatment
- Ensure adequate stock of rehab supplies and expendables for the department
