Job Description

Industry / Organization Type : Manufacturing / Sheet Metal Fabrication
Position Title : Purchaser / Buyer
Working Location : Northeast – Defu Lane (Nearest MRT : Kovan)
Working Hours : 5 days (Monday – Friday, 8am – 5.45pm)
Salary Package : Up to $3,000 + Variable Bonus (At least 1 month)
Duration : Permanent

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and lead times.

Negotiate contracts and pricing to secure favorable terms.

Issue purchase orders and ensure their timely execution.

Maintain robust supplier relationships and manage supplier issues.

Analyze market trends for potential cost-saving opportunities.

Monitor inventory levels to guarantee the availability of key materials.

Collaborate with production planning to forecast requirements.

Manage inventory control procedures and address any discrepancies.

Ensure all materials meet company quality standards and specifications.

Liaise with the quality control team to resolve material issues.

Implement strategies for cost reduction and monitor purchasing expenses.

Manage purchasing budgets and generate reports on purchasing metrics.

Maintain communication with production, engineering, and quality control teams.

Keep detailed records of purchasing activities and contracts.

Undertake additional tasks as required

Min. Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field

Min. 2 years of purchasing experience, preferably in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment

Knowledge of metal fabrication processes and materials (e.g., steel, aluminium, stainless steel).

Familiarity with purchasing software and ERP systems
