Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Compliance Engineer EMC to join our team and ensure that our products comply with electromagnetic compatibility regulations and standards. The Compliance Engineer EMC will be responsible for conducting tests, analyses, and design reviews to identify and mitigate electromagnetic interference issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electromagnetic theory, relevant testing methodologies, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful launch of compliant and reliable products.
Responsibilities
- Perform electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing on electronic products to ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as FCC, CE, CISPR, etc.
- Develop and execute EMC test plans and procedures, including radiated and conducted emissions, immunity, and susceptibility tests.
- Analyze test results and identify potential electromagnetic interference (EMI) issues, providing solutions and recommendations for mitigation.
- Collaborate with design and development teams to ensure EMC requirements are integrated into product designs from the early stages of development.
- Conduct design reviews to identify potential EMC-related concerns and provide guidance on best practices for minimizing electromagnetic interference.
- Work with cross-functional teams to define EMC design guidelines and ensure adherence to industry standards throughout the product lifecycle.
- Provide technical expertise and support during the development of electromagnetic shielding solutions and filtering techniques.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure that components and materials used in products meet EMC requirements.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in EMC standards, regulations, and testing methodologies.
- Assist in the development of test equipment and setups for EMC testing.
- Create detailed technical reports and documentation related to EMC testing, results, and mitigation strategies.
Responsibilities
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.2+ years of experience working as an EMC Engineer or in a similar role.Strong understanding of electromagnetic theory, electromagnetic compatibility principles, and relevant regulatory standards.Proficiency in EMC testing techniques and equipment, including familiarity with radiated and conducted emissions and susceptibility testing.Experience with EMC testing standards such as CISPR, FCC Part 15, EN, and IEC standards.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and interpret complex test results.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey technical concepts effectively.Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide EMC guidance throughout product development.Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on ensuring products meet strict EMC requirements.The EMC Engineer will primarily work in an office or laboratory environment, conducting tests, analyses, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Depending on the project, occasional travel to manufacturing sites or external test facilities might be required. The role might involve exposure to electromagnetic fields and test equipment, necessitating adherence to safety protocols and protective measures.
