RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist HOD in managing the activities of the Reinsurance Department in line with Company's Policies and Business Plans.
• Assist HOD to review and implement the Company's Reinsurance Programme.
• Attend to risks requiring reinsurance by effecting treaty cessions and / or outward facultative placements in accordance with guidelines laid down under the Company's Risk Management policy and Reinsurance programme.
• Maximise retention of risks to increase Net Written Premium as a percentage of Gross Written Premium through sound assessment of the risks, underwriting information and risk survey reports.
• Handle all matters relating to Reinsurance Facultative Outwards Business and Facultative inwards business. Ensure Reinsurance documentation is handled properly.
• Assist in the compilation of yearly treaty renewal information and requests.
• Assist HOD in continual Process Health Checks. Compliance with ICP procedures to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness in work processes within the Reinsurance Department.
• Provide a technical reference point for queries from Business Units, Claims, Finance and Reinsurers. Assist in training of less experienced staff.
• Ensure compliance with all laws, regulatory provisions and Group policies as are relevant to the role
• Monitor reinsurers' rating status and exposures.
• Undertake any other duties as may be assigned.
