Roles & Responsibilities
Position Overview :
This role manages the full procurement lifecycle for a designated fleet of vessels and corporate needs. The specialist ensures all buying activities adhere to company policies while securing cost-effective technical parts, stores, and services.
Responsibilities :
Manage the end-to-end procurement process for vessel operations, from sourcing to payment.
Identify and vet suppliers, leading negotiations for technical spares and services to achieve optimal value.
Collaborate with Superintendents and vessel crews to understand requirements and coordinate specialized services or repairs.
Track vessel locations to schedule and manage the timely delivery of provisions, stores, and spare parts.
Oversee the purchase-to-payment cycle, including reconciling orders and invoices, and resolving vendor disputes.
Develop and maintain long-term supplier agreements to streamline future purchasing.
Assess and report on supplier performance to ensure quality and reliability.
Maintain vessel certification records and initiate renewal processes in advance.
Support Superintendents in planning and procuring for annual dry-docking and repair projects.
Aid in the development of annual operating and repair budgets.
Requirements :
Diploma in Supply Chain, Marine Studies, Engineering, or a related field.
At least one year of experience in a procurement role, ideally within the maritime or bunkering sector.
Strong skills in negotiation, communication, and analysis.
Familiarity with specialized purchasing systems and proficiency in MS Office.
Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic setting.
