Roles & Responsibilities

Job Purpose

This position will be responsible for developing and implementing high-impact communication strategies to amplify the Global Engagement team’s humanitarian mission and thought leadership. This role combines strategic messaging, storytelling, marketing, and data-driven advocacy to strengthen visibility, increase engagement, and enhance collaborations. The position will also drive the planning and coordination of key regional dialogues to engage various stakeholders on ongoing humanitarian trends and issues.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Messaging & Impact Reporting

  • Develop and refine strategic key messages that communicate impact and priorities to diverse audiences.
  • Produce annual and / or thematic impact reports, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Draft and coordinate press releases to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent communication.

2. Communications Strategy & Content Development

  • Design and implement an external communications plan to build visibility, expand outreach, and enhance credibility.
  • Initiate and oversee the development of compelling content for publications, email campaigns, newsletters, and other digital or print materials.
  • Ensure communication materials and campaigns are inclusive, ethical, and reflective of humanitarian principles.
  • 4. Data, Evidence & Knowledge Management

  • Establish and maintain a centralised data library to store, organise, and curate evidence-based materials of Global Engagement’s work.
  • Support data-driven storytelling by linking quantitative evidence with qualitative narratives.
  • Facilitate the archiving and use of data sets to support programmatic, advocacy, and donor engagement.
  • 5. Event & Dialogue Coordination

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of biannual regional dialogues, ensuring high-quality outcomes that strengthen networks and advance strategic objectives
  • 6. Volunteer Management

  • Mobilise volunteers in the planning and execution of events
  • Engage and develop volunteers to become active agents for Humanitarian Engagement
  • Qualifications & Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, International Relations, Development Studies, or related field.
  • Proven track record in developing impactful messaging, content creation, and managing multi-channel campaigns.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills in English; proficiency in other languages is an asset.
  • Experience in event management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into compelling narratives.
  • Remarks : This role may require occasional travel.
