Post-doctoral Research Fellow I : Computational Design for Adaptive and Circular Buildings

Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), Assistant Professor Peter Ortner (Architecture and Sustainable Design) is seeking a Post-doctoral Research Fellow (RF).

The position will support research on next-generation optimization of urban design and architecture for efficient use of materials, low embodied carbon, and adaptability.

The successful candidate will have a background in computational design, urban design, civil engineering, or architecture, with a doctoral degree and research experience demonstrated through scholarly publication. The candidate will also have the opportunity to co-publish with the research team on innovative technologies for sustainable urban design and architecture.

Job Responsibilities :

• Coordinate development of embodied carbon and circularity assessment software tools.
• Co-lead drafting of scientific papers, including reviewing work of junior colleagues.
• Develop and evaluate design space exploration (DSE) tools using Python and / or Javascript.
• Develop surveys and workshops for users of computational design tools.
